A bespoke timber frame garden classroom for a nursery school in Croydon.
The project involved the design of a new garden classroom to provide additional space for Fennies Nurseries. Timber frame was chosen for the project as a highly sustainable method of construction and also to reduce the time on site. The building was completed in six weeks.
The classroom features bespoke plywood joinery to create a low child-height window seat overlooking a sensory garden and a full height storage wall with a low child-height handwash trough. The chevron timber cladding and yellow windows and doors introduce an element of fun to the building.
